Project Overview
HSR’s design team embraced the rich heritage of this rural school district to create the facility’s unique appearance. The new school’s design includes a clerestory exposed structure that provides filtered light to the common area, gymnasiums, central library and technology center/computer labs and art rooms. The 126,000 SF building accommodates 750 students from four separate rural communities and includes two gymnasiums, 40 classrooms, a cafeteria and full service kitchen. Design considerations included after hours community access to the library, technology center and gymnasiums. HSR provided successful referendum assistance following unsuccessful efforts by five previous firms. Assistance included district planning, preliminary programming and cost estimating.
