Project Overview

Cumberland, Wisconsin
The 7,880 square foot facility includes a curved glass panel entry way, which visually “invites” the visitor into the building, covered by an elliptical canopy. Upon entering the common lobby area, which can also function as an after hour meeting space or be used for other public functions, the visitor may proceed forward to City Hall, right to the Council Chambers or Court Room or go to the left for the Police Department. Each of which will have a service window opening into the lobby area to help the visitor without the need to enter into the office spaces directly. The public restrooms also are accessed from the lobby area. The Council Chambers and Municipal Court areas are actually one large space which will normally be divided by a moveable partition wall. This wall can be retracted for large meeting requirements or left in place so that the City Council and Court areas can function simultaneously for different purposes. The City Hall area includes offices and workstations for the officials and staff as well as a secure records vault, copier/work space area, storage/supply rooms and a small staff break/conference area. The Police Department has an office for the Chief, officer work spaces, secure evidence locker, a non-secure storage room, its own restroom facility, locker room and shower and an indoor garage/sallyport which offers direct access to the secure arrest and booking area and interrogation room. An outside carport area provides space for the off-duty police vehicles.
