HSR provided architectural and engineering design services for the new Gundersen Health Clinic in Tomah, WI. The two-story clinic is 77,000 SF, and is located next to the new Tomah Memorial Hospital. Not only will the new facility create a consolidated location for existing patient services in the Tomah region, the new outpatient clinic will also allow for expanded service lines including the following specialties: a Comprehensive Cancer Center, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Imaging, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Podiatry and Dental. The clinic also has a Pharmacy and Renal Dialysis Center. Both the interior and exterior environments create a landscape setting for health and well-being for the community. Within the interior, the strategic layout of departments and there adjacencies allows for excellent patient flow as well as staff efficiency. By maximizing daylighting and utilizing both energy efficient materials and mechanical systems, the clinic is projected to consume less than half the amount of energy of the current clinic. The new clinic opened in the fall of 2019.
